After what feels like the lonnnnngest Winter on record, rumour has it that the sun has kindly threatened us with it's presence in the not so distant future.
A full 16 days of a U.K. heatwave they're saying, who would of ever thought it hey. I know trusting the U.K. weather is a pretty hard right, but after the wettest May we have ever experienced, we’re definitely long over due a little sun.
We all love the good old vitamin D. But how many of us have a little panic when it shows up because our wardrobes are not prepped for it. As if things haven't been difficult enough recently, trying to work out what to wear whilst outdoor dining with a blanket wrapped round you, courtsey of the restaurant of course, desperately trying to keep the much needed customers happy, whilst you're sat there eating a cold plate of pasta just to be able to say that you’ve been 'OUT'!!
And, whilst the world still seems a little contradictory, the U.K. seems to be on track with a roadmap out of lockdown. As from last week, we can now enjoy warm pasta inside instead of the cold pasta whilst trying to keep warm undercover. And, whilst we’re hoping we’ve got a good idea of what the roadmap out of lockdown will look like, we’ve definitely got a better idea of what your wardrobes should look like.
As always at the end of summer last year, the biggest designers showcased their predictions of what this years wardrobes were going to look like, giving us that heads up so we can show up like the Queens that we are, albeit not knowing at the time if we would be rocking these looks for real or taking a mirror selfie for the sake of 'The Gram'.
Now, forget about your loungewear and lets talk about the outerwear. Here’s some of the predicted 2021 summer trends that you will be falling in love with very soon if the sun keeps it's promise.
• Get those stomachs clenched - the Bralets have arrived. Last seen in 1998 when J Lo famously brought them back. Dior, Boss, Givenchy, Armani, Isabel Marant, Moshino and No.21 have all rocked the catwalk showing off their midriffs. Bra's and Bralets worn under a blazer are also super sexy right now!
• Take a breath, a sigh of relief even. Longer length more floaty dresses have arrived to save the day. So, if your not feeling all six pack ready after a year of lockdown, we have the perfect trend for you. And, bright patterns aren’t going anywhere. Think classy summer days splashed with a few cocktails.
• Sequins have made a comeback. So get ready to go all disco on us. If plans go ahead and 'Out Out' happens on the 21st of June, grab your dancing shoes and get ready to sparkle. If Louis Vuitton, Paco Rabanne and Valentino can do it, then so can you!!
To summarise, 2020 was a Bi**h... but let's make the rest of 2021 YOUR Bi**h!
